A refurbished Hobart A200 20-quart commercial planetary mixer. The bench mixer that sits in half the bakeries in the UK for a reason — built like a tank, easy to service, parts still available fifty years after the chassis was designed.
What you're buying
A working Hobart A200 on 240V single-phase power. Three speeds — stir, beat, whip — driven by the classic Hobart transmission that engages through a sliding gear rather than a slipping belt. No plastic. No electronics to fail.
20-quart stainless steel bowl included. Two attachments included (see listing photos for specifics). The #12 attachment hub on the front takes meat grinder, cheese grater, vegetable slicer — any Hobart-spec hub tool.
What we did to it
Full service. Transmission drained, flushed, cleaned, repacked with Hobart-spec gear oil. Drive belt checked and replaced where worn. Motor inspected; brushes replaced where needed. Every lubrication point addressed. Paint cleaned. Serial plate photographed for your records.
Bench-tested through a full bakery-equivalent cycle: stiff bread dough at speed 1, creaming butter at speed 2, whipping cream at speed 3. If any stage felt wrong, it went back on the bench until it didn't.
Use case
This is a commercial mixer. Built for a bakery, a pizzeria, a small production kitchen. Over-specced for a home kitchen and, frankly, too heavy for most domestic countertops. If you're planning on using it for a home sourdough hobby, buy an Artisan instead.
What's included
- The Hobart A200 on its stand
- 20Qt stainless steel bowl
- 2 standard attachments (see photos)
- Service record + PAT test certificate
- 14-day returns under UK Consumer Rights
Delivery quoted on application — A200 is palletised, ~140kg, needs a tail-lift truck. We normally use dedicated haulage rather than a parcel courier. 14-day returns under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Refurbishment report

Questions about this model
How old is it? The year of manufacture is in the specifications above where we could read the rating plate. If it isn't there, we couldn't read it.
Will my old attachments fit? Anything KitchenAid-branded that fits a tilt-head 4.8L will fit an Artisan. The attachment hub on the front will take any KitchenAid-compatible attachment — meat grinder, pasta roller, ice-cream bowl, etc.
Does it come with a PAT test certificate? Yes. Every unit is PAT-tested before dispatch. The certificate is emailed with your order confirmation.
What if I don't like the colour in person? Return it within 14 days, free collection, full refund.
